Are You Thankful For Your Blogging Community?
Ya know, I pondered for days on the perfect title to this post, but I really don’t think there is one. In fact, a few of you may be thrown by this post; I am normally the straight shooting business blogger (with just the right amount of humor, sarcasm and inspiration thrown in) and not much for the “purely inspirational/emotional”.
I do have my moments though, and this is one.
Now, in my eyes there are two ways you could see things; For or To. Being thankful for the community as a whole or being thankful to your community directly (the readers/contributors of your blogs). Or perhaps even both, this is where I am and truly thankful indeed.
I brag a lot about our little community here on DSWM, because as you probably know, you are an awesome bunch! Never has it been so prevalent though, than in this past month.
If you’re brand new here, then you might not know of my recent hosting crisis, where I was sincerely scared of being shut down, if only for a short time. I’ve blogged about it as you can see, asking if there was anyone out there that could possibly help. I offered an incentive of course, but judging the responses, I don’t know if I even needed one.
THE VERY NEXT DAY, the crisis was over. The very next day. I swear if I wasn’t so darn manly, I may have cried.
There were several kind souls that jumped in that afternoon with offers of whatever they could do, and I will always be grateful for that.
Pete was the first to comment with a spectacular offer of his own to readers of mine that could possibly help. Simon offered what he could and was actually apologetic that it couldn’t be in full. Thank you my friends
.
Not to make light of what was already done, it was the email I noticed later that could have knocked me right off my chair. It simply read something like…
We’d be happy to help, just send your paypal address and say the word. We bloggers need to stick together. Signed, Wanda & Paula from Affiliate Blog Online. That’s it and it was done. Unreal.
Besides the obvious there are two reasons why this was so spectacular…
1. (sorry ladies) My very first thought was, holy crap! who the hell are these woman! lol. I honestly could not place them and was grateful for their email signature…I clicked the link and was stunned all over again, I remembered being to their blog only once or twice before.
2. The email time-stamp was about 330am, FIVE HOURS BEFORE THE POST FEED HIT INBOXES. Were they just surfing the net and happened upon my post? WTH?
FATE if there ever is such a thing. Truly. It’s a day I’ll never forget, that’s for sure.
As I said at the end of that last post, there is a miraculous bond, no matter how unspoken, between bloggers whether they know each other or not. I have witnessed it’s power first hand, and I do believe.
Thank you ladies and gentleman, and thank you to all that make up our little community here. Without everyone, I would have no reason for being here.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!
(Don’t forget to wear your stretchy pants to dinner!!
)

Every time someone leaves a comment on my blog, I’m thankful for that. Every time someone responds to a comment I’ve left on their blog, I’m grateful for that. Every time I get to write a new post, I’m thankful for that. And every time I get to read new blog posts, I’m grateful for that as well.
I guess it is the community after all; nice one, Dennis.

That was a lovely post Dennis…and we really appreciate the acknowledgement. We are now doing quite well with our internet business but it was a hell of a struggle to begin with. So we are happy to give back to the blogging community in whatever way we can.
And you are right, I was just surfing the net when I found your blog. I can’t even remember how I got here but when I saw your post I just felt compelled to help. I immediately emailed Wanda and she said of course we should help. Actually I emailed you first before even waiting for Wanda’s response as I knew she would agree.
I guess it definitely was fate.

Absolutely true. This blogosphere has changed the entire concept of websites in internet. In fact this lead to web 2.0. Previously websites were like one way communication and now it is like two way or three way just because of this blogging community. With blogging community, any valid information can go viral, any news can be trashed from one end of the world to other. I am happy to be a part of this community. Isn’t it great how bloggers pull together in an emergency? I know for sure that Wanda and Paula are women after my own heart and I’ll be heading right over to visit their blog just after I click Submit Comment.
We can all do so much more for each other if we just make it a high priority to do it. I’ll be writing more about that soon and hope you will all join in as I will lay out specifically what we can do that will assist each other and provide a way to track our activities too.

@Dennis Edell,
Hey, I am Poor at Giving Explanation… In fact, I just Read The Title of your Post… The Title Made me to Comment… I am really Thankful to My Blogging Community.. Whenever i push a New Post, They will take care of Commenting for it.. while i take care of commenting in their blog.. So i m very thankful to my blogging community.. Everything is so simple here “Give and Take” policy!!!
Sometimes, Sounds Very Artificial, when I am supposed to Comment for Some Bloggers who have commented more on my Blog….
If I don’t do, Their comment work on my post goes in vain! i appreciate their hardwork spending time in my blog atleast leaving a sweet dialogue “Thanks for The Share, Good Luck” .. Even though, 80% of My Comments to Blog will be Thank you messages, I don’t care… I am Happy, That they are giving me Positive energy, saying Thanks as if i have done some worthy thing in Blog!!!!
I thank my blogging community for not expressing spelling mistakes or grammatic mistakes in my blog… it is Good For Both…
1. For Me, I feel Happy Thinking…. “I think I am Good at English, So No Critics on Grammar by readers”.
2. For Them, “Oh Man, Whataaa Bad Spelling That’s fine .. Let Me Not Point it out as he may stop to comment(thank you) on my Blog”
So I appreciate my blogging Community for Mastering in Comment Skills!!!
At The Same Time, I still didn’t read your Blog post… i am giving explanation for the question why am i thankful to blogging community….
You Seeked Explanation for Why am i Giving only a word as explanation. “Yes”…
So I m Trying to Explain whatever I know, see and understand… I already said my way of explanation is too bad….
Anyways, My Essay completes here…
Apologies for spelling mistakes and for making you read a big comment!

@Chethan,
Your comment made me smile because even those of us who were raised speaking English are sometimes accosted by the “grammar nazis”. Some just love to “one-up” others and some may sincerely hope to assist you at learning to write English better.
It really isn’t the easiest language with all the ridiculous exceptions and multiple words that sound the same and are spelled differently. I wish I knew where the video of the comic Gallagher and his spelling flipcharts could be found. Hilarious!
Here is the very best answer to those who criticize non-native English speakers on their English skills. Simply ask them how many other languages they have mastered.
I applaud all those who make the effort to communicate in multiple languages. As anyone who has learned another language can attest, even some understanding is not that easy. Fluency can take hundreds to thousands of hours.
