You Have Spoken - I Have Listened. We Will Have Us An All-In-One Blog Again.

Welcome to D.S.W.M., where Direct Sales meets Online Marketing. We cover it all, as elementary as possible because we know you’re new. Got a wish list? Skribit! Like what you see? We offer Full Feed updates.

MarketingMarketingI have spent a lot of time talking to a great many of you since I declared that I was tightening focus and splitting into a network of “elementary” Blogs.

My friend Katy Castro recently wrote about transitioning a niche blog, and one of the main points was Communicating With Readers, and that’s exactly what I’ve been doing.

Through comments, emails, messenger chat, and even phone conversations, the majority percentage of you really did not like the idea.

You were afraid I may ignore the other aspects, not cover them as thoroughly as I should or once did, etc etc. I can assure you this would not have been the case.

Don’t Just Sit on it - USE it

ProcrastinationProcrastinationThe truth of the matter is, most people do absolutely nothing with the information they learn, so they don’t succeed with it. This is why things like Resell Rights products will never die. Say 3000 people purchase the same product, no number close to that will ever do anything with it.

This tip is not regarding rights products though, at least not directly.

It’s in reference to ANY & ALL information you collect

DON’T be like the rest of them. When you read, hear, learn something, implement it!

Of course you don’t have to implement everything you read (unless you’re really that good), but you should at least make a habit of picking up the things you need to do or want to do and start a “To Do” list.

Step Above & Beyond The Dreaded Plateau

abovebeyond72x60.jpgabovebeyond72x60.jpgAll of life moves in cycles, and businesses are no different. There are times of struggle, and times when the big orders just seem to keep coming out of nowhere.

Long-term, of course, you’re always looking for growth, with the “ups” outnumbering and outlasting the occasional “downs.”

And then there’s the other position your business can be in: flat. The danger here is that a business which has hit a plateau can create complacency, a sort of “business as usual” mindset.

In a way, it can be more dangerous than a down cycle, because at least a down cycle triggers some corrective action (or at least, it should!).

    LeverageLeverageA Little Lesson In Physics

I hope this has never happened to you, but I’ll bet it has: your car has stalled somewhere, and you have to push it out of the way.

Whether you did the shoving yourself, or had to recruit friends, family, or passersby, you got a quick and crystal clear lesson on the principle of momentum.

It takes all kinds of grunting, straining, (and in my case a wide range of vocabulary) to get the wheels rolling, but once you’ve got some forward motion going it gets a lot easier.

As we all learned in school, a body in motion tends to stay in motion.

Why Are You In Business: Security Or Hobby?

hobbyhobbyfinancial securityfinancial securityJust today a thread was started on a forum I frequent and it is indeed a very good thinking question. The question was…

“How many of you are doing your home-based business to gain financial freedom (i.e. get out of debt, secure your financial future, etc) versus just as a hobby or for fun?”

The responses vary of course, but the overwhelming one is usually that it starts as a hobby (something their passionate about) and just keeps on growing until they see the financial light ahead.

If this happens, then great! My response however was for those…oh so many…that just have no clue…

    Whitelist Us BEFORE Subscribing

We want to make sure you don’t miss out on a single issue of “Your Direct Sales Web Success” or anything else for that matter.

We know that unwanted email is a big problem these days, and many email providers have added filters and blocking mechanisms in place.

Unfortunately, some filters detect legitimate mail as spam, too, making it increasingly difficult for the good guys to get their messages through to their subscribers and customers.

While different email providers have different filters, the one important thing to do is add: admin@dennisedell.com to your address book.

Side Note: Please keep this in mind. I thought very hard about banning and forbidding free email subscriptions completely. The reason for this is two-fold….

Find The Hidden Nuggets In Old Emails

golden_nugget_0.jpggolden_nugget_0.jpgAre you an “email pack rat”? Hundreds (if not thousands) of emails in this folder and that folder, or worse….not in folders?

Let me tell you from past and current experience, GO THROUGH THOSE EMAILS! Seriously. Although I probably should have done this in December, part of new years organization is going through ALL the old saved emails.

Keep what may actually be relevant and quickly toss what’s left. (Immediately empty the trash folder too, too make sure they’re gone.)

As for “keeping what may actually be relevant”, please don’t misunderstand me. I’m not saying to just put them back into save mode. If you find something you can use, USE IT. Implement whatever it is, ASAP.

    Real Name or Pen Name

Welcome to D.S.W.M., where Direct Sales meets Online Marketing. We cover it all, as elementary as possible because we know you’re new. Got a wish list? Skribit! Like what you see? We offer Full Feed updates.

pen nameThe debate rages on! OK, maybe not that intensely but it will be a “back & forth” for a long long time to come. Should you use a real name or “pen” name, when doing business online? Especially with article writing…

Some will say that fake names are better for a variety or reasons, such as; it’s harder for your competition to find you or they’re afraid people might not take them seriously because there name is Becki or Bobbi or Chrissy, etc etc, you get the idea.

    To this I say BAH!…
