Free Backlinks: A Traffic Experiment via Commenting & Promotion

Howdy-ho fellow marketers! This will be brief, as I wasn’t planning to write anything yet until I saw something really cool.

Michael James J., owner of theBloggersource (among other things) is running an experiment of sorts for the purposes of increasing blog traffic by combining commenting & promotion and giving all free blog promotion in the process. To this end he needs you to drop a link with a brief description in his comment area!

Cool, eh? This “offer” lasts until Sunday the 8th, so check out the experiment (3rd link), read some simple guidelines and help him and yourself a bit by taking part.

All links open in new windows so be sure come back after and let me know what you think, and if you participated :) .

Blogging Tip: Splitting Categories for Better Usability

split categoriesA short post today but with a bullet! In regards to splitting categories when necessary.

Perhaps it was laziness, I dunno. When I first started categorizing this blog I had “Traffic & Promotion” as one category.

Well, they DO go hand-in-hand don’t they?

    Yes & No.

Here’s how I see it - all promotion is meant to bring traffic. But, not all traffic is a result of promotion…..at least not “direct promotion“.

Do you see it? Think about it.

The more I market and blog, the more I see differences, sometimes vast differences in traffic strategies and promotion techniques.

This also mean that it makes good “user-friendly” sense, to separate the two for readers. Let us never forget, without readers, we’re just talking to ourselves ;).

You don’t want too many categories, but you don’t want separate issues all clumped together either. That just leads to frustration and the dreaded backspacing right off your site.

Niche Article MarketingNiche Article MarketingInternet marketers have long used a variety of ways to usher targeted traffic to their web pages. Pay-per-click campaigns, email marketing, search engine optimization, and ezine advertising, just to name a few.

Niche Article Marketing is another ultimate Targeted Traffic producer…

There is a simple, effective method that many marketers have missed and continue to miss. That is submitting brief, 400 or 400+ word articles, so that they appear all over the Internet.

What are the advantages of niche articles?

    1. They link readers back to your website.

The time and effort you spend on these mini-articles is a wise investment. Every article you submit contains a link back to your website. Every link helps your website gain link popularity, one of the factors in your search engine ranking.

For example, people interested in buying jewelry will find jewellery websites interesting.

Ah yes, the 64 thousand dollar question indeed! The following are just a few of many tried and tested methods. Certainly enough to get you started…

Forums: Subscribe to forums that discuss your topic. Answer questions and join in the debates there. Become an expert in the field. Then with each article reply you write have a discreet link to your website in the signature file.
