9 Qualities You Should Find In A Good Web Designer

Helloooo out there in marketing land! How are y’all? Things are busy busy busy in my little corner, so I have another awesome guest post to start your week.

Do you know James King? Maybe you’ve seen his guest posts on a number of other blogs. Or perhaps you’ve even used his service as a professional web design specialist.

If you’re ever in the market for a web designer, here’s some tips from a professional…

    Hire a good web designer

Not long ago, I had a conversation with one my former managers regarding web design. She said “Anyone can build a website”, I thought that’s nonsense, because creating a website is much more than making a webpage look pretty. Since the boom of the Internet in the late 1990’s to present day, there has been a selective group of individuals that can use Front Page and this suddenly makes them professional web designers. Professional web designer takes a great deal of personal training, experience to be established as an expert.

Did You Know You Can Refund Domain Names?

Yep it’s true! I just refunded my 3rd or 4th and figured I’d post about it. I figured beginners and/or those on a real limited budget would be especially interested.

Heck, 10 bucks is 10 bucks, right? (If you’re paying more then that per year, switch registrars altogether.)

I’m not sure about other registrars, but Godaddy (and their resellers) offer a 5-day leeway policy.

If for any reason you no longer need/want your domain name, you have 5 days from the purchase date to receive a full refund…no partial refunds after that.

This was once HUGE with domain flipping and MFA (made for adsense) site builders; I couldn’t say if it is anymore.

I must say though, I’d think one would need some serious *traffic gettin* mojo to decide in 5 days or less if adsense was working.

Do Advertisers Judge You By Design? What Do You Think…

A quickie post today, but one that raises a pretty good question I think.

Mark Sierra from MeandMyDrum.com recently changed his theme design. It looks great, it really does, but it was one of his comments that really caught my attention…

BloggerContests commented, and I quote ” I think you will have more requests to display ads in your site from now on.”

Hmm, interesting. I know that’s something that I never really thought of before. I mean, I do know they look at traffic numbers, readership/subscriber numbers, etc and so forth.

But design? Really? I dunno. I’ve seen some pretty fugly blogs with some pretty serious numbers, haven’t you? (Unless of course they’re faked, which is a whole ‘nother article :-) )

What do you think. Could design attract or repel an advertiser?

    Never stop pushing forward!

Important Tip: FREE Will Cost You In The Long Run - Do You Agree?

The following tip is one of THE most important for a beginner, especially one on a low budget.

Hello everyone, I was going to spend this weekend playing some more much needed catch-up, but I just can’t hold this much longer.

As you know, my principle goal is somewhat of an adviser to those direct sellers that are trying to *take it online*.

This is a particular question I see everywhere, and often. Whether it be forums and message boards or through social networking, it is continually asked…and it scares the jeepers out me every time…

“Where can I find a really cheap or free alternative to…..” and they mention very select things. Things that you should most certainly not go free or *cheapo* on.

Things that are key components to an online business to which going FREE will cost you TIME & MONEY in the long run…..not to mention too many hassles and headaches to count.

DennisEdell.com is Re-Opening Soon! Care to help? I’ll Make It Worth Your While ;)

That’s right folks, the original (nada there yet) is coming back around! This was the first blog I ever created and was supposed to be the first blog back up, once I took on new and final focus.

However, as I’m sure you can tell, this domain name is far better suited for my niche within a niche I have created here. DennisEdell.com, just wouldn’t do.

Since D.S.W.M. (this blog) and the one or two soon to follow are dedicated to strictly business, I have decided to dedicate DE.com to the “lighter side of business” so to speak…

Stories, Videos, Inspirational-Motivational, etc., and so forth. Things that you might normally find in *uncategorized” on a business blog like this one…taking this blog as a prime example, things similar to what you might find in the commentary category.

    Make sense? Sweet!
