Hello! The top commenter contest for March has begun and I need to get to work.

@Ben Pei, Comment contests in general are everywhere, that’s true. I as well as others believe I may be the first to actually get sponsors for them though.

I’m far from the first to hold such a contest (most do it quietly), but I do believe I am the first to get sponsors for them.
As for HOW I get sponsors for them, this answer may or may not help any…..basically I got really lucky with a very responsive readership.
Right from the jump I got one sponsor for January immediately. He very generously sponsored multiple prizes by himself. Throughout that month I had sponsor emails coming in a lot…and so it went.
Since most interested parties will subscribe to a blog holding comment contests (so they don’t miss a post), they also don’t miss any posts I make asking for next months sponsors.
Now if you only hold them “now and then” like most bloggers, you could still post the question, but you may also want to make the normal rounds as you would looking for sponsors for any contest.
