CommentLuv is Back! H U G E Thank You’s To It’s Tireless Creator!
We’re back in business baby!
As it turns out, it was my Social Bookmarks plugin that did the dirty deed! Apparently it uses the scriptalicious library which is known to interfere with jquery.
I installed that just one day before installing the other 2 plugins I mentioned. After hearing this, I did go back over the comments in between and noticed only a couple had CL links attached.
I suppose it started failing immediately and ended completely around the time the other two were installed. Oops, but a good assumption at the time.
I’m not sad the other two are gone though, they were giving me issues on their own as well.
Now I have to look for another social icon plugin that does not use either scriptalicious or effects.js.
Any ideas? Ah well, I’m just happy as a clam to have my comment baby back! (I know you are too
)
UPDATE: My buddy Linkbuildr jumped on this post with the sociable plugin suggestion that he uses and it works great!

On to the important stuff - A huge thank you to Andy Bailey. I’m tellin’ ya folks, this man is unreal in his devotion and dedication to his readers and his work.
Nearly 2 days or so just working on this issue and it’s not the first time he’s done something like this.
I just made a donation and I urge all that use and love CommentLuv to do the same. Just go into your settings page, scroll to the bottom and click!
That’s all I have for now, comment on!
Never stop pushing forward!
Dennis

Acakadut - Yep yep, thanks for the alert! The problem was, when you saw it, it had only begun to fail, so others were still getting through on it.

I see you already found a sociable plugin so no need to dig into my files to find you one. ever thought of using a nofollow sociable? i am using that one on my blog, no probs with commentluv plus you automatically add a nofollow tag to social bookmarking links.

Mirjam - Hmm, I didn’t even think about leaking juice to these sites; they sure don’t need it.
However, just now I right-clicked the icons and checked “properties” (the same way I check regular links for no or do follow) and they all say no follow.
Maybe I’m good?

Hey buddy
It’s good to see it working right now. You know what…I have never seen any plugin developer as awesome as Andy. He will go above and beyond to fix any issue you have on his plugin. How many would actually go to such great length anyway?

I really hope others consider a donation; sometimes it’s just plain worth it

Right Dot, but unfortunately many plugins conflict with others…good news is, there is almost always an alternative plugin for almost anything.

Hi Dennis,
I have been having problems with comment love since the last Wordpress update now it is nowhere to be found. Every time I update I have problems with my plug ins. The Top Commentator plug in resets like crazy, Which makes my blog look dead to new visitors. Too much Wordpress updates….
