      hey there…
decent traffic? not sure I agree there, because in the end, people only come to drop and leave, atleast most of them, and in order to keep traffic from entrecard going, you will have to spend quite a bit of time dropping as well.

As soon as you stop dropping, your traffic stops as well, so I believe it is far wiser to spend the time you´d be dropping cards a day on using that time to build links and generate organic traffic on the long run :)

As far as being a social tool, I believe you are right there. I have come across some awesome blog because of this system, and probably would not have found them otherwise.

However, just how much socializing is wise to do?

Again, I believe that if socializing is becoming a way to spend time rather than a way to build your business, you should really have to think hard about your goals. Nothing wrong of course with socializing, but if it stands in the way of generating organic traffic, you are cutting down on your own ROI ;)

      cheers!

Hey Mirjam, good to see you again.

Quite true, EC does hold a high bounce rate, in some cases very high…it shouldn’t be discounted altogether though as yet another traffic source…just used wisely.

I personally don’t use it much as a traffic source, but mainly for networking. As you pointed out, I’m meeting people and blogs that I never would normally

However I think you’re really misinterpreting the word “social” here…you make it sound like a Friday night party at Billy’s house. LOL

Organic SE traffic is definitely killer and should be paid a lot of attention too, but it is by fay not the and all - be all for traffic.

Networking in general and now globally useful in social networking, IS most certainly a way to build your business…not just spend time. EC does fit the mold if used correctly.

Think about it a sec, “networking” and even socializing in a business sense were the standard for DECADES before the net even exisited….now that you can do it globally in the blink of an eye…no contest. ;)
