  • Google-Feedburner/CommentLuv Snafu - The Solution

Have you been experiencing the same issues I have? For the past week or two or more I’ve been bitchin’ all over the sphere about bloggers CommentLuv plugins not picking up my last post. In fact, it kept picking up the post about, Google alerts, which at the time of this writing is more then 10 posts back.

Oh yea, really frustrating. Alas! Thanks to Andy Bailey, the tireless/fearless creator of this awesome Wordpress plugin, I have the solution! And, well yea, it was my fault. Oops.

The following solution is in Andy’s words, assuming you’ve had your Feedburner feed switched to Google,

Visit commentluv.com and log in, go to the claim your site page and see if it still has your old feedburner url in the feed field. If it has, change it over and see if that does it.”

It did it for me, and will hopefully work for you as well. Thanks as always Andy!

    —————————————————-

Side Note: There are MANY of you still running older versions of the plugin. These need to be updated or a host of issues won’t be solved no matter what you do…..it’s not difficult to click an update link ;) .

    Good luck!
    Dennis

You should also change your subscribe to RSS form. I noticed it still submits to the old feedburner link.

And the reader link as well…

Thanks for the heads up before I even knew I needed it … won’t be scratching my head and cursing! *huGs* Suzanne

So that’s why it kept showing a post i made a month ago. I was suspecting the problem was because of the transition i made to google feedburner but i didn’t know that i should update my feed in commentluv. Thanks for this. I’ll link back to you on this one.

OK, auto feed detector was incorrect so I had to input it manually. Now it seems to be working.

You see, that’s why I like to visit other blogs. I switched and it never dawned on me to check my feed subscribe button until I read the comments. Thanks Alex.

My CommentLuv seems to be working ok but on some sites, not yours, it’s always a post or two behind. I have no idea why.

I’m glad I finally got CommentLuv working on my site. I had to give up a $100 theme with a $75 upgrade to get it working. All for the best because I like my new theme.

I had the issue with the new feedburner link too. It crops up in other networks as well… you have to check most places that pull a feed to your blog to make sure they are still coming in right. But a change to the new feeds2 address has solved the problem everywhere I’ve been.

There is no telling how many are still being affected by this. I twurled it up to Twitter and shared it at both FriendFeed and cliKball to help get the word out. I’ve still got to make all these changes myself.

I finally and very reluctantly moved my feed to Google as I am still hoping for some alternative solution to using Feedburner. I sure wish they hadn’t sold out.

@GrowMap, Thanks for getting it out, I really appreciate that. I’m sure it’s still catching many and not just commentluv users either; Anywhere someone had a feed needs to be changed. I’m real glad I hadn’t got to the large number of feed directories yet, that’s for sure.

I’ve had no problem with it yet, but if one Googles feedburner alternative, it does indeed seem to be a growing concern.
