Google Page Rank Update: Thank YOU For My 3!
A very important post on DennisEdell.com and $500 to be won on EasyCashContests!
OK so everyone else already did there page rank update posts; what the hell, dare to be different, right? Anyway, I’m happy 
.
I blogged after the last one back in September about going from 3 to 2 and the reason I thought it happened. Now I got my 3 back and I have YOU to thank for it! All of your very generous outgoing links to me and ULTRA generous blog comments definitely contributed to me raising back up a point; thanks!
Tip: For those that may not realize it, blog comments are Google feeding content just like anything else!
I haven’t checked ALL my inner pages yet, but three of my most popular scored a 2! Another scored a 0, which is different from nothing at all. (Ask if you dare, but it’ll give you a headache.) Hopefully those will score more next time.
That’s not all, oh no no no. The BRAND SPANKIN NEW Easy Cash Contests, where of course you can win cash online via blog contests, scored a 1!
Did I mention it was unveiled only last November? Hehe.
DennisEdell.com, my personal blog/central hub which re-opened the same time as ECC opened, kept the 1 it had from the prevous opening (a really long story).
All in all, I’m quite satisfied. How’d you do?

I´ve seen some interesting moves on a few other sites, one in particular went from 0 to 2 without having done any linkbuilding on it :))

I was surprised to find I got a PR 3 - the site only started in November. Now, if only my search engine traffic could reflect it. Referring sites are OK, but Google’s meager. SEO is just so dang competitive.

One of my sites went from a PR 2 to PR4, and the other one went from PR4 to PR2. Seemed a bit odd, but that’s ok. Unfortunately, The Prompt Writer didn’t get a score again this round. Not sure what’s up, but still at PR0. I guess that’s better than a N/A. LOL

Good job! Last update I got my PR1 and this time I made it to PR2. What a surprise. Then I read your comment about PR on inner pages so I checked and found 10 had a PR1. I never expected that.

Hey Dennis,
Congrats to you. My blog is PR0, but it’s pretty new. I make a point of only checking PR when it seems there’s been an update. Much less stressful that way. I don’t understand why it’s only PR0 though… I burned incense and sacrificed a few goats like the seo gurus said to… oh well. Maybe next time.

@ David - Thanks buddy, but I must disagree with “pointless”. Until the end of it’s days (if there is one) I do believe it will always be used as a partial ranking system for potential advertisers.

Twitter - No, you’re not the only one lol, and I have answered this at least somewhat.
As we should all know by now (I made a post or two), I just started tweeting officially after the new year. I will continue to add those I follow as I go.
I will not however be one of those that adds everyone blindly…that’s how i get totally overwhelmed and quit altogether. (I’ve posted about that too.)
I do believe affiliatetips is in there, but I’ll double check.
I also have another post planned regarding follower/followees.

It might be because TPW started out as a regular website 5 years ago. Then last summer I totally redesigned it and turned it into a blog. That could have something to do with it, but I don’t know that for sure.

Don’t mean to be a pest but I saw on your twitter page you asked about a threaded comment plugin that would be compatible with you version of WP.
I’m using and like -
Wordpress Thread Comment
Requires WordPress Version: 2.1 or higher and is Compatible up to: 2.7 and you’re in this range.

Just plug and play if you want but it has a lot of things you can configure if you want. Most settings are tic boxes but there are places to input displayed text and edit the comment html (php allowed) and comment css (CSS only). It already has default code in those areas but you can change it if you desire. It has email notification if you want to use it and has a default email but you can edit that too. Also has some nice admin settings to choose from.
Basically easy enough to understand and set up by a novice but you can get techie if you want.

This is interesting my page rank went down a bit and my natural ranking increased significantly. I prefer the rankings to the PR so I’m fine with it.

Sire got me thinking about a new domain. I thought I had a flash of genius… PRguru.com (after all I apparently don’t know much about PR but would be happy to spout about it), but damned if that domain isn’t taken too. At least it’s the Public Relations kind of PR and not the how-the-heck-does-google-calculate-it kind of PR.

I am always a bit baffled with Page Rank. My main domain page dropped to a 1 but, my business section raised to a 1.
One of my daughters blogs that was totally neglected for 2 months & has few backlinks stayed a 1.
Yep, with all the knowledge I have gained by reading how to raise PR, I think I will be best off doing the ex husband sacrifice. Thanks @Trade Show Steve for the idea!!

I was going to get all worried about Google messing with me but, thought better of it.
I think their evil plan is to be the bully and irritate some of us just so we talk about them and they get the attention they crave.
Maybe Google needs a visit to the Dr. Phil show so he can explain that bad attention will not make them feel better about themselves.
I am proof that Google can drive you crazy!

With 23K plus backlinks showing to your site I’m surprised you didn’t get higher than PR3. You may want to seek out some higher PR links so that you can score a PR4 or even PR5 by the next update.
My sites mostly stayed the same although my newest one, in my sig, got a PR4 after only being active for about 4 weeks prior to the update.

As for me moving up due to links, I have a secret weapon to be implemented (NOT BLACK HAT CRAP), and if it works as expected, you can bet I will be chatting it up in March (next PR update?).

I do not know if Google updates the pagerank, but I already has over 1 years with a PR4, every time Google does not put it more difficult to attract visitors to our site, Google wants all the web traffic for them, is not just be left to compete and I am trying to get by with Google Adsense.Pero really earn a pittance if you have it 5 to attract more visitors.
