New Feature! Link Love For Your Thoughts
As most of you should know by now, I’m always on the look out for ways to share the love with my readers and contributers (commenter’s) using different link strategies. And of course ways to help in the education of said readers.
This is after all Beginner Marketing Tips.
I’ve decided to combine the two in (what I think is) a unique way. Lets call it Knowledge Link Love (look for that in future subject lines).
It’s very simple. Every so often, I’ll post a question, Ex: What’s your favorite technique for…..and why; and you leave your response in the comment section.
Ya cant get much simpler then that, and you get upwards of 3 links for it!…
1. URL field (Do-Follow)
2. CommentLuv link if your URL is a blog.
3. Your URL + a brief site description in a separate post after each Knowledge Link Love round.
WIN WIN WIN! Contributers get 3 sweet links…Everybody gets the knowledge…I get thousands of comments. LOL. I’m teasing of course.
Since these aren’t “contests” per-say, I’m not going to force anyone to subscribe. You may wish to consider it though, so you don’t miss any future goodies…I’m considered by some to be the *Idea Man*
IMPORTANT NOTES
1. Too make it as fair and equal as possible I must insist that ALL comments contain useful information. Any comments with something similar to “I agree with John!” will be deleted…..no link love.
If however you agree with John (lol) and can ADD a DIFFERENT ASPECT to his comment, then by all means do so.
Also be sure to tick the subscribe-to-comments box, in case someone has s question for you…..on that note, try to keep all questions as “straight to the point” as possible.
2. Although I normally respond to all comments on this blog, I too will adhere to rule #1. If I have something useful to add to your comment, then of course I will. I will not give the “courtesy response” on these.
Please don’t be offended
. This will also keep the comments section as unclogged as possible. I may respond every few comments just so you know I am listening
.
3. This is optional but greatly appreciated: I ask for your courtesy in a link-back to this post (not just the homepage) if you decide to use this idea on your own blog.
In fact, I’ll return the favor. Every few link backs I get, I will make another post to point out the other cool bloggers offering this opportunity
Feel free to use the ShareThis link below, lets get link love going across the sphere!

So whatcha think, wanna play?
Never stop pushing forward!
Dennis

Thanks Lucas!
I’m listing a few good questions now, so I have a storage ready to go at a moments notice
First one should be soon…

The first thing that came to mind was what a good comment policy this would make and then I noticed that you already had one. Still, no harm in reinforcing the rules, especially as not everyone reads the ‘comment policy’.
Seems commentluv is out of action, but I will still leave you this comment.
September 24th, 2008 at 3:41 am
Hey Sire, for the most part I just mirrored the policy…you’re right, very few read the policy’s. I may include a link to it right here.
I JUST finished uploading the brand new commentluv 2.1 with some awesome new features…..thing is, it’s not just upload and activate now, there’s a whole ’settings” page which I’m needing a little help on.
Hopefully it will be up and running again by tomorrow…or later as the case may be

I got it going on my wassupblog with a bit of help form Andy.
Make sure that ‘Choose to have CommentLuv on by default?’ is set to TRUE.
By memory it defaults to ID and you only need to change it if comment.php uses the Name value. Leave it as ID and test it by logging out. If that doesn’t work try the Name value.
My blog uses ID, but for some reason it was picking up the value from the Beta version. Andy got me to remove the # from the #url and #comment, so that now it shows url and comment, and that did.
I don;t know if it will help you but it can’t hurt to try.
September 24th, 2008 at 4:17 am
It is TRUE and neither ID or NAME works. I’m also not sure what goes into the boxes either…

Don’t feel so bad mate, I’ve just installed it on my loadofbullshit blog and nothing is happening there either, and I tried all of the above as well. Oh well, shit happens.
Left a post on Andy’s forum.

I like a blog which has intelligent comments posted, it favours a lot of interactivity. I look forward for good comments on your blog.
September 24th, 2008 at 12:17 pm
Sire - I forgot about the forum! I’ll have to check that out;
No problem, I’m sure we’ll all keep in touch on this, I know I for one will promote the heck out of it once its running….it’s got too many cool features to ignore
Feel free to email me if you hear before I do, we don’t wanna go TOO far off topic here
September 24th, 2008 at 12:22 pm
Hey ZK, thanks for dropping by
I love ‘em too when they really add to what’s going on.
Awesome blog of yours. I’m a new subscriber, and love to comment
September 25th, 2008 at 1:24 am
Sire - okie doke, I have the older version briefly reinstalled. As it turns out, the new version needs 2.5, preferably 2.6 or higher to work.
I’m currently still on 2.3.3…now I have to upgrade LOL
I don’t know how long this one will remain working as he is phasing them out soon….I’ll upgrade shortly anyway.

Exactly right Alphonses! I’ve said numerous times how the comments often turn out more informative then the post itself…or at least adding to it signifigantly.
More often then not, you can also gleam additional posts, or at least updates due to excellent comments.
Be sure to get your link love! I’ll be dropping by your blog now, your post title did the trick

September 30th, 2008 at 4:41 am
I love the way that often readers of my blog will pick up on a point that I’ve made and explain it in a far simpler way than I could ever have done! The whole essence of a blog is based on the community and the conversation that you can generate within each post. That’s what people come back for and if you can offer them an incentive to “play the game” as you call it, that’s all for the better.
Looking forward to see how part 3 works out for you on here! Cheers, Dan
