Niche Article MarketingNiche Article MarketingInternet marketers have long used a variety of ways to usher targeted traffic to their web pages. Pay-per-click campaigns, email marketing, search engine optimization, and ezine advertising, just to name a few.

Niche Article Marketing is another ultimate Targeted Traffic producer…

There is a simple, effective method that many marketers have missed and continue to miss. That is submitting brief, 400 or 400+ word articles, so that they appear all over the Internet.

What are the advantages of niche articles?

    1. They link readers back to your website.

The time and effort you spend on these mini-articles is a wise investment. Every article you submit contains a link back to your website. Every link helps your website gain link popularity, one of the factors in your search engine ranking.

If your article’s content matches the content of the web page you have linked it to, the search engines will regard this as a relevant link. Relevant links to your website are valued even higher by the search engines - The higher your site is ranked, the more traffic you will get.

    2. People are always in need of information.

It helps to keep in mind that people who use the search engines are looking for information. If they happen upon one of your articles and find it interesting and useful, they will likely click on the link to your website to continue their research.

The more places your articles appear, the more people will find and read them and the more traffic that will be channeled to your website. Pretty nifty eh?

Now for the mother question! How do you create one of these articles?

Your article should be around 400-800 words long and contain just enough information to:

    • Offer the reader some useful facts.
    • Motivate the reader to click on the link to your website for more information.
    • Attract the attention of an ezine editor who may republish your article.

A good article should contain 1 or 2 tips extracted from an information product you are selling on your website. You could also use paraphrased information from a web page you want the reader to visit.

Also effective is a review of a product you would like the reader to purchase. The review would contain a link pointing to your affiliate page through a link tracker or to a page on your own website where you offer more details.

What can you do if you do not have time to create the articles yourself?

One popular way is to pay a ghostwriter to write them for you. Simply visit websites where you can post a description of the articles you want written and writers will contact you.

(Be careful using this method tho, when you’re online, your written word and credibility is all you have; if you’re readers notice that too much of your work doesn’t “sound like you”, your credibility could be shot.)

Once your articles are done, you will want to submit it to as many places as possible:

    • Article Directories: They will run a quick content check and then publish your article. Once posted to one of these directories, it will likely be re-published all over the Internet.
    • Ezine Editors: You will get lots of well-targeted traffic by submitting your articles to popular ezines that are related to your niche website. Ezines are always in need of new, good quality content.
    • Your Own Article Directory: Many ezine publishers and webmasters do not realize that article directories even exist. Once they read one of your articles from a directory, they will visit your website, which could prominently display a link to your own article directory. The link should make clear the fact that your content is free for use in any website or ezine. “Free Content For Your Ezine” should appear in a link that is prominent on your directory website.

Many publishers are routinely on the lookout for quality articles. You simply allow them the rights to re-use your article and in exchange they leave intact the link back to your website contained in the bio at the bottom of your article.

You just gained another link without lifting a finger.

Once your article is published in an ezine, you will get lots of publicity in return. Getting your articles in ezines read by hundreds or even thousands of people is an excellent way to quickly increase traffic to your website.

Keep in mind that article writing is a huge win-win process for all involved. Authors get free publicity and links back to their website, publishers get free information for their websites, and readers get free quality information for their research and buying needs.

The majority of the following article was not written by me (I added my own flare of course ;)). There was no resource box attached to give proper credit. When writing your articles, NEVER forget your Resource Box!

    To our mutual success!

In my experience, articles are very good for you to get anchored links to a website. As of traffic, I barely noticed any, but as I said, I’m doing it only for the anchored links.

I regularly submit articles to about 300 article directories, in order to get them approved on 6-7 of them.

Hey Simonne, hanks so much for stopping by.

Anchored links is definitely a hot spot, kudos on that!

For those reading that may not know tho, gaining traffic, especially considerable traffic from article submission takes time but it most certainly worth it in the long run.

You could see traffic come in for years, literally.

It’s also my understanding nowadays that you really only need to submit to the top 3-4 and the rest will eventually pick it up on their own.

People will of course have differing opinions on this, but it could save a whole lotta time :)

    3. Simonne Says:

Hey Dennis, I have several articles in ezinearticles.com since more than one year ago and I’m still waiting for the traffic ;)

Actually I’m not spending too much time, because I use an article submitter which is semi-automatic, so I only have to load my article in there and click from time to time, so the software moves on. As I use two computer monitors, this is not stopping me from doing other work while submitting. The directories are pre-loaded in the software, and many of them are probably not maintained anymore by their owners, which explains the low publishing rate I get.

    4. Dennis Says:

Honestly, that could also be an issue. More and more dircectories are turning against auto-submission software for various reasons.

Are you sure they are ALL going in properly?

Everyboby seems to be talking about Niche Marketing more and more every day. It’s as though the whole concept is something new and never been talked about before.

Well I’ve got news for you :)

Having a Niche in life is the goal of every successful person.

In the recording Bud says to Lou, “Anyone who is successful has found a Niche!”

I found an old Abbott and Costello recording which gives me a laugh every time I listen to it. The title of it is “A Niche is a Notch, catch?”

If you visit my blog and search for Niche is a Notch you should find the recording so you can have a listen.

I’ll be looking for other videos and audios from the classics just to show that alot of what we speak about today has already been covered years ago.

      Regards,

      Ian

We tried a little bit Article Marketing after reading Josh Spaulding’s work. We have had some traffic from the directories, but the biggest limiting factor for us was submitting the articles.

Those Microsoft quotes are annoying. The layout differences between directory was also annoying. Some accepted , others didn’t. We found that fixing up the layout took time.

Dennis - how long do you find it takes you to submit to the top 3 or 4 directories? Who are you submitting to?

      Thanks for the insight.

    7. Dennis Says:

Submission can indeed be a royal pain, which is why I’ll be using a service…..service, not software, BIG difference as it is still a human submitting manually.

I realize “the top” is a bit of a broad statement as with everything else, people have there faves. But as far as PR, Traffic stats, and overall likability (the ones mentioned MOST when this question is asked), the 6 here are a darn good place to start…:-)

    8. Dennis Says:

@Ian - You’re right, pretty much everything has already been done…the key is to put a new unique twist on things; find a niche within a niche and so forth.

Unlike of course all the classic movies that are now consistently being demolished by silly remakes…sorry but this really irks me :-)
