OK here’s the skinny. I’m busy busy busy workin’ on something really awesome for everyone, but I figured I’d take a little break here at Midnight to bring you a pretty cool Entrecard contest.
Btw, if you’re one of the few still not using Entrecard on your blog(s), you should be. Not only does it bring you pretty decent traffic, but it’s an AWESOME promotion and networking tool
Anyhoo, on with the festivities! The General Marketing Blog has got himself a new domain name and he’s pretty stoked about it. To that end he’s giving away 10,000 Entrecard credits to one lucky winner! TEN THOUSAND.

Hello all! Some of you that have been with me since the beginning may remember me trying this before.
I had set it up here, then I set up a whole ‘nother blog thinking they really deserved a home of their own; which they do, but I’ll get to that.
To refresh your memories and for my new readers, I had set up FreeMarketingMembershipSites.com for this venture. The reasons I took that one down are two-fold…
I was still a bit green then and didn’t comprehend just how much work goes into drawing traffic, and I certainly didn’t realize just how much work was involved in raising multiple blogs at the same time.

I found the following in an old email, added a lot of my own input and thought it was pretty good. As with any free promotion though, be careful and concise. It may be free but can cost you countless amounts of time and energy if you’re not aware…
Online free classified sites offer a risk free, no cost solution to promote your businesses and sell products and services. Advertising in free classified sites can be time consuming and frustrating if you do not know how to successfully profit from these sites.
Knowing the right tricks and tips of online free classified ads will separate you from the hundreds who post thousands of ads without getting any results.

As you may have guessed, this article is in regards to linking and primarily which is the best *code* to use when doing so.
Should you have it open in the same window…effectively drawing people away from your site…or a new window…leaving the original one in tact for the reader to go back too.
This thought popped into my head while reading a post by Lynn Terry, entitled Stop Linking To Your Home Page!
This is all about internal or deep-linking as it’s called. The act of linking to pages within your blog from outside sources OR from within the blog itself, as I did here in the first sentence.

That’s right folks, the original (nada there yet) is coming back around! This was the first blog I ever created and was supposed to be the first blog back up, once I took on new and final focus.
However, as I’m sure you can tell, this domain name is far better suited for my niche within a niche I have created here. DennisEdell.com, just wouldn’t do.
Since D.S.W.M. (this blog) and the one or two soon to follow are dedicated to strictly business, I have decided to dedicate DE.com to the “lighter side of business” so to speak…

As an online marketer your customers do not know you. They cannot see your face. They cannot hear your voice when you are recommending your products, and they cannot see or feel your emotions when you are telling them about the benefits of your products.
The Internet is now a world game and it offers a level playing field for anyone out there who has a computer. This connectivity means that you have the potential to reach every individual in the world.
You are no longer limited by normal geographical constraints. Basically anyone can be your virtual customer!

In my ever vigilant effort to make a clean looking AND user-friendly Blog for everyone here, I am trying one more plugin to try and get the combination of post snippets on-site, while having full feeds go through the feed.
if you recall, I first attempted the Full Feed plugin and it was a disaster. I then thought it would just be best to change the look of the Blog a bit, and publish full posts.
Neither you nor I liked that very much.
When suddenly…..on one of my blog commenting escapades I ran across Colin King, a true geek :-). A great guy, a real swell fella; seriously.

Advertising your website is a matter of dollars and sense; as in, where does it make the most sense to put your dollars?
A recent survey conducted by Marketingsherpa.com (as reported in the Marketing Report newsletter) showed that search engine optimization and in-house generated email lists rank neck-and-neck as the top performers when it comes to return on investment.
A few highlights:
- Paid search ads are favored by 49% of marketers as the highest ROI.
- In-house email lists received the top rating for ROI by 47% of those surveyed.
- 34% of marketers plan to increase their spending on search engines by 5% or more.

I have spent a lot of time talking to a great many of you since I declared that I was tightening focus and splitting into a network of “elementary” Blogs.
My friend Katy Castro recently wrote about transitioning a niche blog, and one of the main points was Communicating With Readers, and that’s exactly what I’ve been doing.
Through comments, emails, messenger chat, and even phone conversations, the majority percentage of you really did not like the idea.
You were afraid I may ignore the other aspects, not cover them as thoroughly as I should or once did, etc etc. I can assure you this would not have been the case.

There are of course many many many more than 7, so this will be a quickie but goodie. As you should have noticed by now, we have and will discuss many more…
1. Publish testimonials you receive - whether it’s for both your paid or your free stuff. This is something a lot of folks overlook; if you publish testimonials you receive for your freebies, it will increase their value; and if they’re viral marketing tools, you’ll have more people giving them away.
2. Give your visitors an enjoyable visit - They’ll want to return again and again! Use a few jokes, humorous graphics, funny stories and so forth. Just make sure not to go too far off topic of your site as this can confuse and bewilder the visitor, which will defeat the purpose.
