Oct.’08 Post Round-Up for Direct Sales Web Marketing
Happy Halloween! Past Present or Future, depending when you read this; I won’t be posting tomorrow
I realize I promised this to be a monthly thing here when I started it in June, sorry about that.
With so many things happening, not the least of which, my sudden yet unavoidable 2 month disappearance, it just hasn’t happened…I’ll try much harder from here on
For those too lazy, hehe, to click the link above, this is where at the end of each month I do a round up of the best of the best posted here during that month.
Just in case you missed or forgot anything juicy
Now let’s dig into those archives! (All links should open in a new window.)
JULY (Slow month)
1. A very popular tip for bloggers regarding comments. Ranking heavy-weight in most popular posts!
2. Third ranking post regarding a captcha issue that bugs the living crap outa me, and explains why you may lose my subscription…apparently i was not ranting alone
.
SEPTEMBER (In hospital all August.)
1. An important tip on how going the free route on certain business necessities will cost you more in the long run.
2. I announced a very well received new feature in which I share lots of link love if you share you knowledge.
3. I officially announce we will be merging offline marketing tips also. If you’re and offline marketer with knowledge to share, I’m always looking for guest bloggers.
OCTOBER (I really get back in the swing.)
1. My first contest went over pretty well, dispite the short notice. I’m still waiting on a little info from the review winner.
2. This was the first knowledge link love round, where I asked, “What Are Your Favorite Social Networks and Why“.
3. Do advertisers judge you by design? We had varying answers, what do you think?
4. A good guest post by DaBlogger.
5. 7 tips for choosing a business name. A good read for those concerned over this.
6. A very cool contest at Mr. Javo’s is still going.
7. Here I explain why my Scratchback advertising is just a little better then yours.
hehe
8. Another quite popular article on leveraging your competition. Do you?
9. Are you like Jack? There’s still time to change
10. Are you/were you guilt of any one of these 7 common start-up mistakes?
11. Nice guest post from Dominique Goh. If you’re looking for recommendations on article directories, check it out.
12. What do you think are the top 5-10 social bookmarking sites? I’ve already got mine, but feel free to leave your thoughts.
13. I finally installed the Wordpress back-up plugin! Apparently I was way behind the times. LOL
14. Is your online reputation solid? A great one to read; an even better one to answer.
15. Is your integrity intact? How do you go about recommending a product or service?
16. Oh no! My CommentLuv is down! Oh phew, it’s back in action! Al due to the awesome plugin author Andy Bailey.
The last two aren’t exactly “must reads” but it does tel you what scripts don’t play well together.
That’s it ’till the end of November! (Fingers crossed.)
Lots of links, yes. Go slow, save them, do what ya gotta do, but please do read them. There’s some good stuff in there.
NOTE: This will be my last post for a few days, as I put together an awesome new blog for you guys.
Never stop pushing forward!
Dennis

Indeed ZK, but as I said in the first post, too much is no good (as Google has no problem telling us), which is why I only do it once per month…
I’ve seen others at once per week.

Interlinking is fantastic for SEO. I need to do it more often for sure. I try to do it weekly, but don’t always.
BTW: Do you have other blogs beside this one?
Happy November!

Hi I just discovered your blog today! You have some interesting and educational content on your site.I have been trial and error with plugins as well. I can’t get any of the ping plugins to post, not sure why.
Since my site is about direct sales marketing also I wanted to introduce myself and offer to do a guest post for you anytime that you would like to take me up on the offer!

November 1st, 2008 at 1:39 pm
Hi Nancy, thanks so much for stopping by. Check out my guest bloggers page up top and ten feel free to contact me; I’d be happy to chat
What ping plugins are you using? I’ve had my share of plugin issues as most bloggers do, but I think it’s safe to say, I’ve had more successes…a few anyway. LOL
I’d be happy to try and help if I can.

Hey, good to see a round-up of your posts that will be helpful - I’ll try to check some of them out when I get a chance
Maybe you should make a sidebar with your ‘recommended posts’ in, that way new visitors will be able to direct themselves to your best posts quickly!

Hey Larry, it’s awesome to see you here! I hope to see you ’round more often.
November 2nd, 2008 at 7:51 am
Hey Dan, thanks!
That’s a superb idea, which I’ve been thinking similar. I’ve been think’ maybe a *resource page* instead of sidebar links…some of mine and even some great stuff from other bloggers.
