UPDATE: Free Permanent BackLinks: Are You A Subscriber Or Following Me On Twitter?
Latest Update - Please see this post for final changes to the page.
Our $100 Best Blog Review contest is in full effect! Will you be going for the gold?
Update to post below: The page itself is completed (excluding links) but I need help with the Title before publishing. Right now it’s “Meet Our Subscribers”. Ideally it should imply both subscribers and Twitter followers, however “Meet Our Subscribers & Twitter Followers” is far too long.
Any thoughts? Please use the contact form only.
For all those new to this post, read on and comment with your links!
—————————————
I was going to wait until the New Year to announce this coolness, but why wait to make my people happy!
As you all should know by now, I am all about sharing the luv link style with those that luv me (and those that don’t yet, but will). Y’all know who I mean; those that read, subscribe, comment, and generally share their generous knowledge with us all.
Well, I now have over 150 subscribers (no matter what the chicklet says) with more then 1/3 via email, and 50+ Twitter followers without a single tweet thus far; so I figure I must be doing something right
. Now, I’ve thought of a pretty cool way to show my thanks and appreciation for sticking with me.
A permanent page for backlinks to those that subscribe via email and/or follow me on Twitter! I will include your real name, site/blog link with keywords of your choice, and Twitter link.
How cool is that?
I was originally going to stipulate that you had to be a subscriber to also get your Twitter link, but then I thought better of it; why alienate, right?
Fair warning: if you follow on Twitter but do not subscribe to the blog, please know that I am NOT going to be one of those bloggers that tweets every single blog post, isn’t that annoying? You may miss something Juicy
.
To date I have had only 2 email subscribers unsubscribe and that was before I caught my real focus on this blog.
The page will be up Monday at the latest, with the link clearly visible on top the home page. If you’re not already subscribed via email, or following on twitter, why not? If you are doing either or both, would you like a permanent link?
Please leave the following in the comments below:
1. Real Name. (First is fine)
2. Email address used for subscription. (Verification)
3. Site/Blog link with preferred keywords. (No affiliate sites/products)
4. Twitter link.
Optional: If you feel so inclined to Blog/Share/Twitter this post, it will be greatly appreciated
.
I look forward to linking to you!
Dennis

Note to twitter followers - I understand some of you are quite confused as to why I haven’t tweeted since I opened the darn thing a year ago!
Be on the lookout for an upcoming post on that very topic…it will all change for the better come the new year!

What a great early Christmas present!!!!
Until recently, I thought Twitter was useless. I signed up because an artist I have been following tweets.
I’ve met lots of great people from around the world since signing up. There is a lot of junk tweets, but lots of sharing of good stuff as well.
Merry Christmas

I just became your ardent follower
Please don’t send around affiliate links
@OurFoodRecipes, do the following:
1. Go to twitter.com and create your profile there. It should not take more than 2 mins
2. Download a twitter client application such as twhirl (www.twhirl.org) or tweetdeck (www.tweetdeck.com/beta/) and start sending your messages to the world (and to your followers)… Each message is of an SMS length - that’s just 140 characters
3. Write a post about it on your blog and ppl will follow you. You can follow your favorites as well…even Dennis

I use Firefox browser, and there is a great twitter add on called Twitterfox.
It adds an icon in the bottom tray which alerts to new tweets, and you can tweet from it or reply directly to other tweets.
It is easy in install and easy to use which I like.

Good morning.
I’m a Mac user and use the Twitterrific application for following Twitter when I’m not busy concentrating. I just let the app run in the corner of my screen and it checks for tweets from the people I follow every 15 minutes. When, I’m done with what I’m doing and waiting for the computer, I just click the Twitterriffic window and browse through the awaiting tweets.
Unlike Dennis, I am one of those annoying bloggers who tweets every post.

Your post got me finally to set up a Twitter account, something I’ve avoided for awhile. I feel like I shouldn’t admit this as an SEO writer, but I just don’t like Twitter. I like real writing - big, comprehensive blog posts, not the brief sentences you get there. But it’s something I should be a part of. So:
1. Real Name: Henry
2. Email address used for subscription: seowordsmith@gmail.com
3. Site/Blog link with preferred keywords: http://www.seowordsmith.com (SEO Wordsmith)

hi Dennis,
I thought I left a comment this morning? Anyway, I just subscribed (thought I had before), and I appreciate that I don’t have to join twitter since I haven’t had the time to learn about it and I’m not sure if I want to…
I’m wondering though if I have a blog and a website, can the link be for the website if I subscribed via the blog, or am I putting way too much thought into this in the first place…
And did I comment a few hours ago?

hi Dennis,
I thought the “fresh meat” bit was quite creative, if a bit carried away. On a serious note, though, long ago, I would post my (old) email address anywhere without thinking. Then I started getting bombarded with spam, and learned that there are “spambots” prowling the internet and harvesting email address. My old email address is basically useless now (even with spam filters, a lot of spam gets through, and if one sets the filter higher, then a lot of legit email gets blocked…). Anyway, I am now very careful about posting my email address. BTW, I am assuming that you just want our email addresses to verify the subscription and that they won’t be posted with the link, right?

HI again Dennis,
I’m curious about your push for email subscribers (as opposed to RSS). Is that because you can actually track their subscriptions, because you can (or do) offer different content via email…?
thx!
Reply
December 28th, 2008 at 12:08 pm
Hi again to you! LOL
BOTH actually, now that you mention it. For this particular page I’m putting up, it’s the only way to track it (anyone can say they are an RSS sub.)
However, come the new year, I may indeed be gifting something here and there for email subs; special offers, whatever
.
It takes a lot more trust and confidence to give up an email address these days, and I like to reward that.

I’d be really interested in knowing your effectiveness rate for email vs RSS… when I get a bunch of bacn in the morning, I delete it all, whereas with RSS I’m in control so I pay more attention as it’s on my time.
